We currently don’t have funding until the theater is built so most supplies and staff are volunteer and donated. If you are skilled at grant writing or sponsorship, that would be a wonderful remote volunteer job!   We accept daytime volunteers and also those wanting to camp.

We are also approved for certain individuals needing community service.

Volunteers wanting to camp:

HOURS:
We ask 20/hours a week volunteer or 3 hours/day.   How you split it up is very flexible. For example you could do your 20 hours it all in two days if you wanted.
Stays are reassessed weekly for stays up to 90 days.
If there are multiple volunteers, we ask that you are flexible in sharing the one electrical RV hook up so that everyone gets a chance to use it. We currently have a 30 AMP plug and a 110 outlet available outdoors. Dry camping is available on the other yards.
There is water hookup outside but unfortunately this still freezes in bad weather.

MAIL
You are welcome to use our PO Box if you need to receive mail.

DRUG ALCOHOL AND SMOKE FREE
Please note that there’s no drugs, alcohol or smoking permitted on the site.
All our volunteers are sober.
We are committed to a healthy sober environment for all our volunteers to be safe in. If this is not an environment you are comfortable with please do not volunteer.

PETS
If you have animals they are not permitted inside the theater.
There are currently no fences and there are feral cats around.
So please keep your pets safe!

TOWN
Farmersburg is a pretty tiny town. There are neighbors.
One of the projects we are working on as a fence but it will be some time before completed.
It’s a good idea to Google maps the location so you are aware of the tiny town.

NEARBY
There are grocery stores in Sullivan which is 15 minutes South or in Terre Haute 20 minutes North which is the bigger city.
There are numerous State and County Parks in close proximity. Shakamak state park is 30 minutes away
We have lists of food pantries if you need them.

DUMP
We don’t have a dump hook up yet… that’s another work project if you’re interested in.  But the LOVES travel stop is about 10 minutes away and it’s only $10 to dump. Vans can dump their portable toilets inside the theater bathroom.

NO HATE
We welcome all genders, ethnicities, abilities, and LGBTQ.  Everyone needs to feel safe as they are living on site. One of the fundamental rules of Farmersburg Theater is: No hate.

NO GUNS ARE PERMITTED.
